Nursing foals intercepted at Cleburne horse auction on October 22, 2020. The generous donations of caring people, enable us to help horses in need. Babies Freesia and Poppy are alive and flourishing thanks to the donors who saved them.
Help us help this mom and her daughter please. We just learned last night that they have been at Lonestar Kill Pen for 17+ days! That is way too long to be at a kill pen and not suffer the consequences. They will no doubt be sick with the kill pen crud of superbugs and will have lost weight and condition. They need out of there and fast. Please help us help them! We were offered a deal by the kill pen to take them or they would be shipped to slaughter.
We need to raise $595 for the bail/randsom for the 2 year old and $425 bail/randsom for the 10 year old mom.
We need to raise $600 to pay for their transport out of there and to quarantine.
We will undoubtedly have vet bills for them and medications to administer.
We will need to pay for at least 30 days of quarantine with the likelihood of needing another 30 days, which will cost $800.
Saving lives and paying for all of their needs while trying to nurse them back to health, is no easy undertaking. It costs us far more than can be recovered and takes much effort, worry and heartache. We find it all worth it, to see a once suffering soul be rehabilitated and placed into a loving home. We need the support of loving people who share in our desire to help horses, to make what we do, possible. If you feel it in your heart to help this mom and her daughter, we would greatly appreciate your donation to help us help them.
I just want to start this update by saying that I am amazed and overwhelmed with tears of gratitude with how well Zeke is doing. He has overcome so many hurdles we thought would take is life. We are so grateful to God for continuing to heal this boy. God could have taken Zeke at every stage that we know starved horses tend to have organ failure and die. All the cards were stacked against Zeke and he is still here! We are going to leave him in quarantine with wonderful Melanie for a while longer, to not uproot him yet and risk a health setback. Please continue your prayers and good wishes for Zeke, as he still has much weight to gain and strength to gain. His need for 4 bags of Thrive feed weekly remains, at $120 a week. If you would be so kind as to help with Zeke's Thrive costs, we would be most appreciative. It is helping Zeke to gain weight at a pace that his vital organs can process and use.
Today our update for Zeke is that we can see slight weight gain, which is really good. He is on day 2 of penicillin and gentamicin antibiotics for his upper respiratory infection. Zeke has less nasal discharge and no coughing was heard today. He does have a large amount of swelling in his sheath today, which is disturbing. Zeke as given dex and banamine and had his sheath washed to help reduce the swelling hopefully. Your continued prayers for this sweet horse are really appreciated.
Zeke needs your support as he continues on the road to recovery. He needs four more bags of Thrive feed. Each bag costs $30.00. Zeke's vet bill was $245.00 total amount needed is #365.00.We cannot do this alone. Please help if you can.
We just received Zeke's bloodwork results! The vet finds the results encouraging, so we will hold onto that piece of good news! Please continue your prayers and good vibes for Zeke.
Zeke continues to eat at a safe pace for his refeeding after starvation. He has made it for 7 days now, which we are very grateful for. Tonight he will be examined by the vet and a CBC will be done to see how his organs are functioning and what if anything, we can do to further help Zeke. Please continue to pray for Zeke that he survives and gets to live a long and happy life.
If you would like to help with Zeke's vet bill and his continued feed requirements, please consider a donation today. We really appreciate it.
Zeke needs your continued prayers please!
He is in the very capable hands of Melanie Witherspoon, whom we trust completely. If anyone can bring him through, Melanie can.
We did not want to risk having Zeke travel any further in his condition. God willing, Zeke will stay with Melanie at her quarantine facility for a while.
Everything that can be done for Zeke is being done.
Melanie reports that Zeke is in good spirits, she says he is very sweet and friendly.
She said Zeke is eating his Thrive and alfalfa and his digestive system is starting to work again.
He is drinking plenty of water so dehydration is not a concern.
We are praying Zeke does NOT lay down, because he is far too weak to get up. He needs to gain strength before he can lay down.
Zeke's name means, "May God Strengthen." Zeke needs God to strengthen and heal his neglected and abused body.
Your continued prayers for his survival are most appreciated.
We will continue to update, hopefully with only good news.
This one has us in tears! Not a mini, not a baby, but a young colt who needs immediate help before dying from organ failure from starvation. He isn't even listed on the kill pen page, he was going to be direct shipped to slaughter but a fellow rescuer (Thank you Retta Risley) saw him and asked to give him a price and a chance to live. He is $350. We couldn't look away. Look at his eyes, they say "Help me!"
He will need a ride out of there quickly to a thickly bedded stall and a vet to assess him, a CBC to check organ function and other needs which will be $500+. Transport will be $600 to get him to Melanie Witherspoon's quarantine facility from Stroud, Oklahoma. He is too starved and weak to make it to us.
Who can help us save him please? He needs us and Now!! Every dollar helps.
We have received $313.91 so far, please help if you can! Almost enough to pay for him. Transport can pick him up today for $675 if we can get enough $$ in. PLEASE HELP!!
We now have enough for his purchase price but need help to get him hauled out & to quarantine ASAP!!
We must raise $561.04 for his freedom ride. Every donation matters!!
Thank you so much to our amazing ANGEL DONOR who has sent the needed funds for his freedom ride! Quarantine fundraiser is next!
We have been offered a generous dollar for dollar match towards hay by an Angel Donor. We are so thankful for this boost of help! It is that time of the month and we must buy hay for all of our rescues! Please help us meet our $1,500 goal so it may be doubled! Who
If we could get 75 people donate $1, we could buy a bale! Each one is $75 each. $25 buys a third of a bale.
Please help, if you can. Anything helps us keep them fed.
This is ANGEL DONOR match hay fundraiser, so we need help reaching the $1,500 match amount. No donated dollar amount is too small!
